In 2022, Tomorrowland returns to Alpe d’Huez for the second edition of Tomorrowland Winter

The story continues high in the French mountains from 19 to 26 March 2022

Wednesday, 24 March 2021 – After a magical first edition in 2019, Tomorrowland 2022 returns to the stunning French ski resort of Alpes D’Huez for the second edition of Tomorrowland Winter. The Tomorrowland Winter story will continue from 19-26 March 2022, as the ‘people of tomorrow’ unite once again for the adventure of a lifetime filled with snow, music and secrets to discover against the beautiful backdrop of the French mountains. Pre-registration is now open on tomorrowland.com.

The second edition of Tomorrowland Winter was cancelled shortly before its launch in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, it will no longer be possible to hold the festival in Alpes-Duesses in 2021, but Tomorrowland is confident that it will return next winter: After a two-year hiatus, it will return to Alpes-Duesses from 19 to 26 March 2022 for the ultimate musical winter sports holiday. The world’s best DJs will gather in the villages and mountains for the breathtaking sets for which Tomorrowland is known worldwide.

This year’s Tomorrowland Winter cannot take place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but as a tribute we will be broadcasting 2.5 hours of spectacular views from Alpe d’Huez and the surrounding mountains on Thursday 25 March at 16:00 CET. Martin Solveig x Kungs, Klingande and Offenbach will each make an exclusive appearance at over 2100 metres altitude.

An impressive stage built on a mountaintop

In 2019, Tomorrowland hosted Tomorrowland Winter for the first time, which was a huge success, inviting everyone to Alpes D’Huez, along with festival-goers from over 90 countries. More than 100 artists performed on stages set up in the centre of the village and on the ski slopes, including Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix and Paul Kalkbrenner. Each stage was designed with a size and style that wowed visitors, making it the most spectacular stage of its kind ever built, and a record for a stage built so high in the mountains. The highest stage was located at Le Pic Blanc, the highest point of the Alpes d’Huez Grand Ski Domain, at an impressive 3,300 metres above sea level, overlooking the entire ski area.

A winter wonderland nestled in the French Alps.

From the slopes to the scenery, the French Alps have created a winter wonderland, attracting an international audience to Alpduez for the first time. Located in the heart of the French Alps, Alpduez Grand Domaine Ski is the gateway to one of the best ski resorts in the world, with 250km of slopes and 300 days of sunshine a year. Tomorrowland Winter 2022 offers a range of activities for non-skiers and non-snowboarders to enjoy the winter snow.

A tribute to Tomorrowland Winter

Although this year’s Tomorrowland Winter has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the world-famous festival will use the alpine ski resort of Alpe d’Huez as a concert venue to deliver a magical winter spectacle in the Alps. Klingande and Offenbach will also make a very special appearance at an altitude of over 2,100 metres with spectacular views of the Alpes d’Huez and the surrounding mountains. The two-and-a-half hour programme will be broadcast exclusively on Thursday 25 March at 16:00 Central European Time on tomorrowland.com.

French dance legend Martin Solveig: “The COVID-19 pandemic has made us realise how valuable the little things are. We are here in Alpe d’Huez, on top of the world, and I feel very lucky to be part of this event. It’s the first time we’ve played a B2B set together and it’s very exciting.

Kunguz, the young French prodigy”. At the moment we are working on a lot of new songs. The mood of the album we are working on is very optimistic and positive. We plan to release some songs before the summer and then the album. We will play one song in our set and it’s called “Regarde moi”. I hope the audience will like it.

French Tropical House producer Klingande: “I have been blessed with the perfect weather for the set: The sunset. It’s perfect for my music. I haven’t been able to travel in a year and I haven’t played in a long time, so I’m very excited. It’s great to do it, but it’s also great to play it.
